The rate card
Pay as you go is invoiced by hand at the end of each month while the metered billing pipeline is being finished. You get an itemised statement, you pay it, and nothing is charged to a card automatically.
A worked month
Say you run 20 automated texts, 20 emails, and 5 dialer calls on a working day, across 22 working days in the month. At the rates above that month costs:

The 22-day assumption is shown on purpose. Change your own volume and the math is the same rate card times your counts.
Where a subscription wins
A monthly plan is the cheaper choice once your steady volume crosses its break-even. Below the break-even, pay as you go is genuinely cheaper, and we would rather you paid less. Break-even here is measured in automated texts, the most common action, at $0.45 each.

These are texts only, for a clean comparison. Real usage mixes texts, emails, and calls, so your true break-even is a little lower. If you send steady daily volume, the subscription is almost always the better deal, which is why it is our recommended path on the pricing page.
